Hangouts: Name rules
The names you type, yours and your hangout's, are what friends see. Keep them kind.
- Use a name your friends know you by. No one else's name.
- No slurs, threats, sexual words, or anything meant to hurt someone.
- No links, phone numbers, or emails in your name.
Zero tolerance. Hang Habit has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We review reports and take action on names that violate these rules. Moderation can replace a person's displayed name and the names of Hangouts they host in supported app versions. Changes appear after the app successfully refreshes its moderation list; older versions do not apply the list. Hiding names does not remove membership or stop status sharing.
To tell us about a name, tap it and choose Report name. To tell us about a hangout's name, choose Report hangout name. If you host, Block and remove asks you to confirm, hides the person on your phone and requests their removal from that Hangout. A removal cannot be cancelled. After a confirmed removal, Unblock only stops hiding the person on your phone; to bring them back, invite them again. If you are a member, Block only hides the person on your phone and does not stop them accessing your shared name and status. Anyone can request to leave. If the host requests to leave, the Hangout ends for everyone once iCloud confirms it has ended. Cloud membership changes require iCloud confirmation, and previously cached information may remain visible. See the Privacy Policy for details.
